GOLF

Our Private par-72 championship Golf Course takes full advantage of the 135 acres of beautiful terrain and can play as long as 6,960 yards. Tree lined fairways, occasional water, strategically placed bunkers and hazards set the tone for our course which is challenging and appreciated by golfers of every ability. The Almaden Golf and Country Club hosted the LPGA and Nike Tour for over 14 years and has been a zone qualifying site for the U.S. Amateur Tournament. The course is in immaculate condition and maintained in the highest standards as recommended by the USGA. One of the unique features of the course is that holes are linked by continuous concrete paths for those that prefer a cart but it is easy to walk for those who prefer to walk.

We are especially proud of our practice facilities, which includes a large driving range, bunkers, pitching green and a substantial putting green. The Golf Shop is stocked with the latest in golf apparel and equipment. The staff, including our PGA professionals, are trained to fit, repair equipment and provide group or individual instruction across all skill levels. There are several golfing groups that have formed over the years to help galvanize the golfing interest of various types of golfers. These include Men's Seniors, Ladies 18, 9, 2 Holer Groups and Juniors. We also provide the opportunity for outside groups to schedule and hold golfing events at our course during certain days and times when it does not conflict with member play.

GOLF GROUPS

The Men’s Senior Group is composed of approximately 160 men age 50+ who play home and away events up and down the peninsula from The Olympic Club to courses in the Monterey area. In 2017 there were about 20 events scheduled.

The Woman's Groups are stratified into 18 Hole, 9 Hole and 2 Hole groups to allow ladies of different skill levels and varying availability to enjoy golf at the appropriate level. Each group is given a specific exclusive course day and time slot to allow play without the pressure of other golfers of different abilities.

There are also men’s and ladies Golf Teams for those players who desire a more competitive experience.

Our Junior golf program, offered in the summer months, is a great way to introduce youngsters to the game of golf. In this program developing friendships, etiquette, swing fundamentals and fun are all on the agenda to encourage kids of all abilities. There is also a Jr. Golf Team to facilitate the competitive desires of our younger players.
